Where were you born? In the Dijklander Hospital.
Do you have children? Yes, I have 2 girls: born in 2012 and 2013.
Where did you give birth? Twice, in the hospital.
Where and when did you graduate? I graduated in 2006, to the academy of midwifery in Maastricht.
Why did you become a midwife? When I was 9 I was allowed to tag along on a maternity visit with my mother. How cool was that! I was more than interested in how it all went. Not so much what the kraamverzorgende did, but I found the midwife super interesting! From there I continued my search and I have never wanted anything else!

Do you have any specializations within Eva van Hoorn?
I started with doing consultations about, and inserting, IUDs in 2018. It is very nice to be able to do this next to my work as a midwife.
What do you think is the strength of Eva van Hoorn? The fantastic team with our warm and committed cooperation. This is the basis and we can convey this to our pregnant women and their partners.
What makes you happy? What is more beautiful than driving to that one house where the light is on in the middle of the night? Although (when it freezes) it can sometimes a bit tough, but once in the car, I am happy that a baby is going to be born.
But I also love getting to know the different people during the consultation hours, the conversations and stories! Outside of work I really enjoy a good massage, dinner and of course the crazy things my children say!
What do you prefer to do in your free time? In my time off I love to relax and do nothing, read a book or watch a good movie.
