Where were you born? I was born in the VUMC Amsterdam because I am twin!
Where would you, one day, like to give birth? At home or in bath in the Dijklander Hospital! Beautiful spacious rooms and the warm water seems lovely during delivery.
Where and when did you graduate? In graduated as midwife in 2017, in Amsterdam.
Why did you become a midwife? During highschool I always thought I wanted to study medicine to become a gynaecologist. I accidentally (during a short internship) ended up at the obstetrics outpatient clinic in the AMC. I thought that day was so fantastic that I immediately went to the open day and registered for the midwifery study. I never knew it was a separate profession.
Since when do you work at Eva van Hoorn? Since December 2017.
Do you have any specializations within Eva van Hoorn? Yes I also do external versions if your baby is in a breeched position.
What do you think is the strength of Eva van Hoorn? We have a really good working team where smooth cooperation is essential. We also have good cooperation with the hospital. And of course everything under in the same building: ultrasound, obstetrics and maternity care.
What makes you happy? In my work the birth of a baby is the most beautiful thing for me. So magical! Outside of work it makes me really happy to spend time with family and friends.
What do you prefer to do in your free time? Shopping, cooking and travelling!
