In addition to physical maternity care, Eva van Hoorn Kraamzorg offers digital maternity care as a supplement. Digital maternity care includesinformation, instructional videos and online magazines. With this, you always have valuable and practical information at hand, even when your maternity caregiver is not present. Examples of videos: how to quickly make a crib, how to fill hot water bottles and how to manually express milk from the breast. It provides information on various topics related to pregnancy, the postpartum period and the first three months of the baby’s life.
Why are we offering this?
Starting in 2025, all maternity care organizations are required to offer digital maternity care. We have chosen to arrange this through Babybalance.
What does digital maternity care mean for you?
- You have 24/7 access to instructional videos and information whenever you need it. It’s a convenient backup during the maternity week, but also a helpful reference for the information and instructions provided by your maternity caregiver.
- Most videos have subtitles in 9 languages: Dutch, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Ukrainian, Turkish, Polish and German.
- You will receive an account with login details, which gives you access to all videos, information and magazines from your registration up until 3 months after your due date.
- One hour of maternity care from the allocated hours (LIP) will be reserved for digital maternity care. This will be reflected in the hours of maternity care provided, and you will need to approve this hour.
- Health insurers do not apply a personal contribution for this digital maternity care hour (‘eigen bijdrage kraamzorg’).
- To continue providing maternity care, a covenant has been established between Zorgverzekeraars Nederland (Health Insurance Company) and the industry association Bo Geboortezorg. The use of digital care alongside physical maternity care is part of this agreement. Information about this covenant can be found at www.zn.nl/actueel.
